Flames engulfed House Contains Chemicals, wounds 4 people

Jakarta - Fire struck the compound housing the Radio In the RT 14 RW 03 Kelurahan Gandaria, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The fire that burned about 20 houses were from a house that contains chemicals.


"There were explosions loud enough, it might be from these chemicals," said Agus, a local RT to reporters at the scene, Thursday (17/9/2009).

Small gas cylinder explosion in the house containing chemicals are also thought to contribute enlarge explosion and flames.

Meanwhile, 4 people were taken to hospital for burns. 4 victims of identity is unknown.

AFP monitoring, at 16:45 pm, the fire was still raging. Residents also helped firefighters extinguish the fire by using water resources around the location.

Slow extinction because of access to the market area this inpers standstill, such as traffic flow from the Radio In or Pondok Indah.
